23: A Community That Loves to Perform
Axminster is a vibrant community in so many ways, none more so than in its capacity to perform via live events. This banner celebrates a whole host of performances across music, theatre, drama, panto, comedy and much more.
At the heart of many of the town’s staged events is the elegant Guildhall which dates from 1931 and is also the home of Axminster Town Council. In recent times the Guildhall has undergone an extensive upgrading and a big promotional push as it fine tunes its programme of future events.

“It was a challenge to include all the performing arts in a single image. I decided to focus on the stage with its spotlights and a dancer as an expression of music through movement and also an expression of dramatic story telling. The symbolic masks and musical signs added to the overall design and dynamic.”
