Now sadly closed, Axe Valley Wildlife Park was a fabulous family friendly attraction that was situated on the very edge of Axminster. It was home to species ranging from rare breeds of goats to zebras, meerkats, otters, flamingoes and mongooses. We miss its presence just outside the town and have decided to keep using the banner in memory of a once much loved asset.

Designer: Christine Newton

“When I look at the black and white stripes of an animal’s hide and pink of a bird’s feathers I automatically think ‘zebra’ and ‘flamingo’. I felt that just these two colours represented the ‘exotic' species living in the wildlife park on the edge of town.”

Location: Rabbithole Barbershop, South Street
